With assistance from bathroom manufacturer Ideal Standard, we thought we’d start with the bathroom and below are just a few handy tips:Opt for an eco-friendly bath – Ideal-Standard’s Alto bath is both practical and attractive and the ecoversion holds 149 litres of water whilst the traditional version has a capacity of 195 litres.Taps – some of Ideal Standard’s single lever basin mixers have been developed using the revolutionary Click Cartridge technology. This technology creates a resistance when the flow is at 50% - more than enough for hand-washing. The company’s Ceramix Alto basin mixer (pictured) is an eco-friendly tap combined with an up-to-the-minute modern design.Make sure that taps don’t drip; a dripping hot water tap wastes energy and in one week wastesenough hot water to fill half a bath!  All Ideal Standard’s taps feature ceramic disc technology - aningenious design that prevents drips.Light bulbs – replace existing light bulbs with energy saving ones, these last up to 12 times longer than ordinary bulbs and save money in the long run.Save the bath for a once a week treat and opt for a water-saving shower the rest of the time – theaverage shower uses just 30 litres of water.  If you have limited space, consider a shower bath such as the Ideal Standard Create (pictured).Older style toilets flush away volumes of 7.5, 9, 11 and even 13 litres each time they are used.Exchanging these with modern designs will reduce this to a maximum of  6 litres so saving water every time.  Also if a dual-flush mechanisms is installed there is an option to select a shorter, lower volume of flush (no more than 4 litres) when only liquid has to be cleared.Close blinds and curtains after dusk to retain the heat in the room.  Also consider heat retaining cork floor tiles instead of ceramic ones.Recycled products – there are a number of environmentally friendly cleaning products available.  It is also worth considering using recycled toilet paper. For further information regarding eco-friendly products available from Ideal Standard call 0800 590311 or visit www.ideal-standard.co.uk
