Granada TV's This Morning programme with Richard & Judy is transforming a £120,000 dilapidated house into the ultimate family home and one of their viewers will eventually win it.
To add a slight twist to this fantastic competition, the viewers also have to decide how they want each room to look.
The latest room to receive its make-over is the bathroom, with interior designer Emma Pickles giving viewers the chance to vote whether to have a Victorian seaside or minimalist style.
A massive 74% of voters opted for the minimalist look at which point Emma set to work making her CAD design into a reality.
After considering the layout she wanted for the bathroom, Emma measured the room and drew a floor plan (see our feature on measuring to help you do this correctly). Play around with the layout, Emma advises. Until you get the ideal balance. Begin with the bath it's biggest.
In order to achieve the minimalist look Emma chose neutral-coloured bathroom suite Kyomi from Ideal Standard with Academy mixers. They've got a clean, Japanese-y look.
The main feature the bath had to look calming and relaxing. I like a luxurious bath and wanted it to be built in, said Emma. I also wanted it to be substantial. Too many people put a bath against a wall with a few panels and it looks puny and uninviting. There's not enough elbow-room or room for your G&T!
As the minimalist look should have clean lines, pipes should be boxed in. Emma also decided not to use tiles but instead painted the walls a neutral colour and used four sheets of Eros Marblecast Panelling which looks like marble.
A semi-countertop basin was fitted into a built-in cabinet at a height that is suitable for young users. The cupboards below and above the basin will cope with all of the family's storage needs.
Once accessorised the end result is the minimalist's dream bathroom. Clean lines, neutral colours and Japanese-y styling. Perfect.
