The Features

I love a good scrub in the shower especially now the skin bearing weather is finally here! So what better way to get my body polished to perfection than testing exfoliators?

Here are the results in tradional reverse order.

Time for a Scrub-Up

5. Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Scrub, £3.49 for 200ml

I know it says 'gentle', but this didn't seem to have much of an effect at all - more of a moisturiser than an exfoliator, but it wasn't expensive and it did smell nice and fruity!.

4. Nirvana Spa Body Scrub, £2.95 for 200ml

The packaging is fresh, simple, minimalistic and the scent is of orange and mint but not overpowering at all. In terms of an exfoliator, it contains dead sea minerals which are slightly abrasive - enough to make your skin feel smooth and refreshed.

3. Anatomicals Make Min A Smoothie, £7.50 for 200ml

Slightly more expensive but worth it just for the fab and funky packaging. It has a tropical scent like the sea, and I'm talking Caribbean not Blackpool! It left my skin feeling refreshed and buffed and, as the packaging says, gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'oh, don't they scrub up well!'.

2. Lush Buffy the Backside Slayer, £8.75 for 200g

The name of this product says it all - it slays your bum! Your skin is guaranteed to feel softer after just one use, but be prepared to pay with a bit of pain, especially on your first attempt, as the grains give your skin a good pounding, believe me though, it's worth it!

1. Virgin Vie Rise & Shine Foaming Body Exfoliator, £9.50 for 250ml

I am now officially addicted to this - great packaging, invigorating smell of the sea and instant effect on your skin. It sloughed away dead skin cells and left fresh, plump new ones underneath, giving me soft skin and a healthy glow. If you really want to treat your skin, smooth on some of VV's Instant Action Hydrating Skin Drink after you get out of the shower too and you're ready for the sun!.
