The Features

When exercise is an important part of your life, and you spend the evenings pounding the tarmac, it's bound to leave your feet in a less than desirable state! So in an attempt to find the perfect foot soother, we asked an avid athelete to put some lotions and potions to test. Here are the results!

Lotions & Potions for Feet

4. Virgin Vie Footsteps, £7.00 for 150ml

Although on first application this product gave a refreshing feeling, and it had a nice minty scent, it just didn’t live up to our tester’s expectations. Feet didn’t feel fully moisturised and the cream didn’t seem to soak in fully so left the feet slightly sticky.

3. Lush Fair Trade Foot Lotion, £5.45 for 225g

The main issue with this product was the packaging – it comes in a tub and once you’ve removed the lid it doesn’t seem to want to go back on properly. As a result it kept spilling out! It was, however, good value for money and did achieve what it stated on the pack, leaving feet nice and soft. Our tester also said it looks and smells like toothpaste so make sure it’s kept out of reach of children!

2. Barefoot Doctor Sweet Feet, £4.49 for 125ml

The packaging on this product doesn’t really sell the product – not giving instructions for use or highlighting the benefits. It was however, good value for money, didn’t smell of toothpaste – which made a nice change – and left feet feeling moisturised and soft.

1. Clinique Water Therapy Foot Smoothing Cream, £15.00 for 125ml

It’s hard to believe but this product made our tester’s feet so soft she got blisters the next time she went training! Putting that to one side though this proved to be the best of the bunch – more expensive but definitely worth it for feet that now feel fantastic!
